DAY 1: NAIROBI / MASAI MARA
You will be picked up from your hotel at 08.00 followed by departure for the Maasai Mara, Kenya's most famous Game Reserve. This drive will take you past the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley where your driver/guide will stop at a strategic viewpoint for photography. Descend to the floor of the Rift Valley and continue driving towards The Maasai Mara. Arrive at the lodge for lunch to a welcome of a cold towel and a welcome drink as you check in and given your room keys. The lodge porters will show you to your rooms and assist you with your luggage. After lunch you will have an hour to rest from the drive followed by your first game viewing drive in this magnificent reserve. The greatest attraction in the Mara is watching the animals in their natural habitat, a lion's roar, a cheetah making a kill, the herds of wildebeest known for the annual migration, an elephant trumpeting in anger and lots of other animal activities are all very fascinating events. Return to the lodge after your game drive . Overnight and meals at Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Sarova tented lodge. (B,L,D)
DAY 2: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL GAME RESERVE
enjoy the lovely African sunrise. Thereafter, proceed for another adventurous safari drive in search of wild animals. The early mornings and evenings are the best times to watch the big cats hunt - the lion, the cheetah and the leopard. At these times the most glorious sunrises can be observed. Return to the lodge for a full buffet breakfast. Morning at leisure. Lunch will be served in the restaurant after which the guests will have time to rest before the evening safari. We will take you for another exciting evening safari in search of the "big five" The big five are the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and the buffalo. After the game drive you will be driven back to the lodge. Overnight and meals at Mara Sopa Lodge. (B,L,D)
DAY 3: MASAI MARA
06.30hrs- Enjoy an early morning pre-breakfast drive at the park. This being the annual migration period for the Wildebeest, you will be able to see very many of them grazing within the park as well as thousands of other animals and birds. Return back for breakfast at the lodge or camp, followed by a midmorning drive to return for lunch. Spend the afternoon either relaxing or visiting the tribal Masai villages nearby. Dinner and overnight at the Sarova Mara tented lodge/ Basic camp.
DAY 4: MASAI MARA/ NAKURU.
After breakfast have your last game drive at Masai Mara followed by departure for Nakuru. Have a break for lunch at a restaurant. The Lake Nakuru National Park is world renowned for its large population of the pink flamingos, which sometimes number over a million. The park is also home to the white rhino, the rare black rhino among other wild animals. You are almost certain to see the most elusive of the cat's family, the leopard. Return to the lodge. Overnight and meals at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Lion Hill Lodge or camp. (B,L,D)
DAY 5: NAKURU/ SAMBURU.
If staying at the lodge, you will then have a chance to enjoy an early pre-breakfast game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park.This will then be followed by a hearty breakfast and departure for Samburu with a brief stop over to see the Thompson falls. Have a break for lunch at the foothills of Mt. Kenya before proceeding with your drive to Samburu Game Reserve. Proceed to enjoy the wonderful view of different animal species found at this park.Dinner and overnight at the camp or Samburu Serena lodge or Sarova Shaba Lodge.
DAY 6: SAMBURU.
Morning and late afternoon spent game viewing, animals such as the graceful Gerenuk, Kudu, Grevy Zebra, reticulated Giraffe as well as the Somali ostrich , Lions and Elephants can also be easily sighted. Have a break for lunch at the Lodge / Camp. Late evening drives at the park are also recommended as it is quite cooler at this time.
DAY 7: SAMBURU/ MT.KENYA.
An early breakfast followed by departure for the Mt. Kenya region. Afternoon spent visiting the Mau Mau caves and water falls. In case you prefer to visit the more forested area, then a visit to the Aberdare tree lodges of The Ark or Treetops would be ideal as this would give you a chance to see the animals coming to the floodlit water-hole in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your Mount Kenya Hotel.
Note: To stay at the Tree lodge would be at an additional cost.
DAY 8: MT. KENYA / AMBOSELI
This drive takes you past Nairobi city. Arrival for lunch in Nairobi at Carnivore restaurant or similar. After Lunch you will proceed on with your safari to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli lies south of Nairobi and is situated at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Home to the brightly painted and proud Maasai tribe. The evergreen swamp and nearby grasslands attract an abundance of game including elephant, buffalo, lion, cheetah, spotted hyenas, among many other wild animals. En route game drive as you drive to the lodge. Overnight and meals at Amboseli Serena Lodge Or Oltukai Lodge (B, L, D)
DAY 9: AMBOSELI.
An early pre-breakfast drive at the park, to catch the animals at their most active and also to enjoy the spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro.Return for breakfast at the lodge followed by a mid-morning drive at the park. Take some time to relax at the lodge after lunch to be followed by an evening drive at the park.( BLD) If the sky is clear you will be to see the african sunset with the elephants in the background.
DAY 10: AMBOSELI/ NAIROBI.
This being your last day at Amboseli, have an early breakfast and enjoy a morning drive at the park, followed by departure with packed lunch for your drive back to Nairobi. Arrival will be in the late afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or at the airport.Those who would like to proceed to Tanzania will be dropped off at the border.
